Norma's Quilts

Quilting has always fascinated me and has been a hobby
of mine from an early age. It is a great way to relax
and lets my creativity come alive.

With a few choice fabrics and exercising some creativity,
I can whip up a table runner or place mat in no time at all.

Quilts have always captured our
imagination with their old-fashioned charm.

Quilting has been around for centuries. Most of all quilting
has evolved out of necessity and served functional purposes,
such as clothing to keep out the harsh cold and rainy climates.

A good quilt provides much needed warmth to homes.
Whether thrown over a rocking chair or on a bed,
a quilt always comes in handy.

Many of the older quilts were made with patches of material
hanging around the home, sewed to the desired size and by
putting a backing on the quilt it served its purpose.

Today with the availability of irresistible fabrics
and a few creative ideas works of art are produced.

For me quilting is a labor of love, watching raw material come alive
in the form of Heirloom pieces, such as bedspreads, table runners,
table clothes, baby blankets and so many other things.

Giving a gift, such as a handcrafted quilt or
table runner, is a joy incomparable.

In my creative pursuits, I managed to create some beautiful pieces.

I can be contacted through the Cape Breton Farmers' Market, just ask for Norma.
