I'm Bruce Brown and you can find me every
Saturday morning at the Cape Breton Farmers' Market in Sydney.
I produce some neat wood working items, such as trivets, small tables,
benches, potato bins, small storage chests... etc.. etc...
Timber was the most important resource for many centuries, whether for
a source of heat, building homes or making furniture to fill the homes.
The entire raw lumber used in making my products are cut from local
forest of Cape Breton, dried and milled in my own shop.
Woodworking has always been a passion for me and I felt there was a need
for the services I offer in my area. I started by making small items such
as trivets that can be use on the kitchen table to hold those hot pots and
a few knick-knacks for the local tourist. Since then, I have expanded to
making small pieces of furniture such as end tables, deacon benches,
linen chests and storage chests to name a few.
I feel my modest hobby has grown into a unique value-added asset for
the local farmers' market and would compliment any household.
The true benefit of making items for the farmers' market is that
it is an extremely enjoyable and a satisfying hobby.
That's me, thinking up my next project.
